May 16, 2004 - a bay near Maturiki Island, off Beqa Island, FijiI saw Parrot fish, Sargent Majors, Tangs, Pencilfish, and the widest variety of coral I have encountered in all my years of snorkeling tropical reefs. Some of the coral was dead. I'm not sure if anchor chains did the damage, or if fresh water flowing into the lagoon from the land is responsible.
These photos are all taken with my Minolta Vectrix GX-4 underwater APS camera. The APS film is then scanned with my Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED transparency scanner and processed for website display.
