January 11, 2000 - Grand Canyon - Sunset

I returned to the area around Yaki Point and Mather Point for the sunset over the Canyon.  The light is just incredible, as you can see by the photos below.  As I previously described on the Sunrise page, the colours vary from dusky rose all the way through fiery yellows to brilliant azure and in-your-face crimson.

It is easy to see why some photographers make the Grand Canyon their life's work.  If you consider what I have recorded in just a little over 24 hours, you can only imagine what a skilled photographer could accomplish year after year, when covering all the seasons of this unique place on earth.
